In the spirit of back to school, this past weekend I took a trip out to Buffalo NY to reunite with my amazing friends from college.
Taylor, Liz and Laura whos on our laps!
We haven’t seen each other since Graduation! The idea for the trip first came up a few months ago thanks to Timehop from Facebook showing a throwback group photo of all of us.
We all commented back and forth reminiscing about the good times until we finally decided to set a date to reunite in the summer! Buffalo is too far of a drive from the city for me so I used be App Hopper to find the cheapest plane ticket, packed my carryon and hopped on a JetBlue flight!
After landing, I was greeted by my friends as they rolled up with a handmade welcome sign!
The next day we woke up early and took the boat out to grab breakfast. After we docked the cutest duck that I named Donald, get it? Donald Duck! Ha! I’m funny and you know it! He thought my yellow nails were food and took a nip at my fingers. I gave him some popcorn though because he was just too cute!
After feeding the Duck We finally made our way to Lou’s Diner in Tonawanda near the Erie Canal. We’re a bit of a rowdy group but the waitress we had was a spunky older woman who had a blast with us while we kept her on her toes. Zach especially was the wild card of the group.
After we finished eating we hopped back on the boat and cruised around the river. The weather was gorgeous and the water was calm. We could see the mist coming from Niagara Falls from where we were! I’ve never been there and definitely need to cross it off my bucket list!
We stopped at Grass Island where everyone anchors their boats to just hang out, drink and swim in the water. The water is waist deep so it’s easy to stand in. We had a flamingo and pineapple floaty that we all hung out in. We tied them to the boat so we wouldn’t get carried away by the river. It was the perfect spot to hang out!
We basically had a picnic on the boat. We had sandwiches, drinks and Laura made the best Vodka soaked Pineapples that were delicious!
I finally learned how to drive a boat! Nick, Laura's awesome boyfriend showed me the ropes and thankfully I didn't flip the boat haha!
I officially want to own a boat now.
We stayed on the boat and watched the sunset. It was so pretty and felt like time was standing still.
These three, Zach, Liz and Nick pretty much became the 3 Amigos on this trip!
Can we also take a moment to be in awe of the amazing Laura making everyone drinks at the clubhouse!
Spending time with everyone was amazing and unknowingly what I needed. It was as if nothing has changed in the past four years since we last saw each other. Being together and having an entire day on the boat honestly felt like it was just a dream!
I love these girls so much and I'm so happy we got to hang again.
This needs to be a yearly thing ladies!
